Securing the Future of Public Education: Navigating Federal Uncertainty in 2025
Our keynote speaker will be Noelle Ellerson Ng, a respected expert on federal education policy and Associate Executive Director of Advocacy & Governance at AASA, The School Superintendents Association. Her keynote will tackle the pressing concerns raised by the recent election results, including the federal landscape, priorities of the new administration, potential policies and threats, state-level action, and much more.
This timely conversation will provide a roadmap for understanding the evolving education landscape and empower attendees to take proactive steps in protecting and enhancing public education in Illinois.

Keynote Speaker: Noelle Ellerson Ng
Associate Executive Director, Advocacy & Governance, AASA, The School Superintendents Association Noelle Ellerson Ng joined AASA in 2007 as a policy analyst.
As associate executive director, she directs the advocacy and governance efforts of AASA. In this role she spearheads the organization’s federal advocacy work with Congress and the U.S. Department of Education; she oversees the organization’s survey, research, and policy analysis work; she manages the organization’s governance work, including direct support and management for the executive committee and governing board, as well as our 49 chartered state affiliates; and she oversees the AASA Student and Child Privacy Center.
She speaks regularly on federal education policy to school leaders across the country. Before coming to AASA, Ellerson Ng was a high school special education teacher in Central New York. She worked in state-level advocacy for the College Board while earning her master’s degree.
A native of New York, Ellerson Ng graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester with a degree in political science and certification in elementary and special education. She completed her master’s degree in public policy and education administration and policy at the Rockefeller College at the University of Albany (SUNY). She is an alum of the Institute for Educational Leadership Education Policy Fellowship Program (Class of 2010), the Emerging Leaders Program through PDK (Class of 2013-14), the McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University Certificate in Education Finance (2018) and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Executive Education the Nonprofit Management and Leadership: Strategies for Organizational Success Program (2022).
