ED-RED Legislator of the Year Senator Adriane Johnson

Congratulations to Senator Adriane Johnson!

In October 2020, State Senator Adriane Johnson was sworn in as the first Black Senator from Lake County to represent the 30th District. With a background in business and local government, Senator Johnson has carried her passion for public service to Springfield. As the Chair of the Senate Education Committee, she oversees all legislative measures impacting education.

This past session, Senator Johnson successfully passed two ED-RED initiatives into law; including: Community College Remediation Data Sharing and Student Protections in Tenure Dismissal Hearings. Both of which, prioritize students and support the school districts serving them. Her work and support of public education are honored and celebrated by ED-RED. Thank you for being a Public Education Champion!

Thank you to our Annual Sponsors for your support of public education!
